Is the Belgian Malinois breed appropriate for my lifestyle?

The dog breed to get is as important as deciding whether to get a dog in the first place. Every breed has different traits and caring needs.
We recommend researching various other breeds before contacting a breeder and committing to buying a puppy. Online information about dog breeds is found at AKC.com, and can  help guide you in this very important decision. Breed research is necessary because you may find that while you think a puppy is absolutely adorable, that breed's personality may not align with your lifestyle.

Do you have children?

Consider this: is my dog good around children? There are those breeds that want to be the main attraction are clingy and will not be happy if your undivided attention is given to a child or something other than them. Like kids, puppers do require a lot of your undivided attention, respect, trust, love, and energy. It can be exhausting!
Think about a puppy as another child when making this very important commitment. Can you integrate your time and busy schedule with the needs of the puppy throughout the days?

Does an adult dog fit us better than a puppy?

Some of the very unique experience's from obtaining a puppy is that one will get to know everything about them and guide them every step of the way to adult hood through training and socialization.
The disadvantage is that a puppy requires lots of your time, and patience. Your furball cannot be left alone for more than a few hours.  They need many poo and pee breaks outside, a lot of socialization, and frequent meals.

On the contrary, adult dogs do have less needs, and are usually calm. Others are house trained and basic obedience trained!  How about that?
